1999-to present
Media, Culture, Development, and Public Communication
Since 1999, my professional journey has moved across journalism, broadcasting, government media, cultural institutions, international development, public communication, and digital production.
I began as a news writer in Kuwait’s Ministry of Information, working on radio and television reports and developing the discipline of accuracy, timing, editorial judgement, and audience awareness. Over time, that path expanded into media coordination, strategic advisory work, editorial leadership, cultural programming, resource mobilisation, and programme support with international development institutions.
Across these years, I have worked as a writer, editor, producer, coordinator, public relations practitioner, media adviser, programme manager, and institutional communication specialist. The common thread has always been the same: shaping information into clear, responsible, and meaningful public communication.

My work at Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre added a major cultural and public programming dimension to my professional experience. It placed me within one of Kuwait’s most prominent cultural institutions, working in an environment shaped by performance, public events, creative production, administration, cultural sensitivities, and audience engagement.
As Programmes Manager and Music Department Administration Manager, I oversaw daily operations, supported administrative excellence, and managed major initiatives including the Orchestra Project and the School Project. The role involved supervising a large multidisciplinary team of approximately 300 employees, including administrative staff, project coordinators, and music professionals.
This experience deepened my understanding of how culture is organised, presented, communicated, and experienced by the public.
Ministry of Information,

Programme Leadership
July 2010 – March 2017
This chapter marked my progression from editorial coordination into programme leadership within Kuwait’s Ministry of Information News Department.
As Secretary to the Editors-in-Chief, I supported senior editorial leadership in managing news outputs, coordinating projects and programmes, advising on media handling, and contributing to the editing and production of radio and television reports. This role strengthened my understanding of newsroom operations, institutional reputation, media discipline, and the importance of timely, accurate public communication.
I later served as Programme Manager and Editor-in-Chief, where my responsibilities expanded into editorial supervision, programme development, operational efficiency, and content delivery across platforms. I contributed to the design of media programmes reflecting Kuwait’s cultural and political context, strengthened editorial standards, and supported high-quality content aligned with national priorities.
Across this period, I combined editorial judgement, team coordination, strategic planning, conflict resolution, and policy awareness. The role also included supervising a large media team, with responsibility for editorial staff, content creators, and media strategists.

As Media Coordinator in the Foreign Relations Department, I worked on international media logistics, official delegations, guest coordination, and Kuwait’s media presence abroad.

In the Minister’s Office, I supported strategic advisory work related to media policy, project development, institutional communication, and coordination between the Minister and members of Parliament.
This role required discretion, political awareness, problem-solving, media strategy, legislative liaison, and the ability to support high-level government operations through clear communication and practical planning.
Ministry of Information,
News Department
News Writer
16 January 1999 – January 2005
My professional media career began as a News Writer in the News Department of Kuwait’s Ministry of Information.
I wrote, edited, and produced news reports for radio and television, covering political, economic, sports, and government-related news. This role built the foundation of my professional discipline: accuracy, deadlines, editorial responsibility, public trust, and the ability to transform information into clear broadcast content.
Independent & Public Engagement Work
Journalism
Alongside institutional roles, I have maintained an active connection to journalism, opinion writing, and public communication. This includes part-time journalistic contributions and published work across different themes of public life.
Public Relations
I served as Public Relations Director during the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers’ Arab Economic Summit in 2009, contributing to event communication and public-facing coordination. The current website already identifies this as part of my independent work history.
Election Observation
In 2012, I participated with the Kuwait Transparency Society in monitoring election-related violations and supporting civic observation efforts.
Innovation & Systems
In 2010, I created an automated election system for voting and counting compatible with Kuwaiti electoral laws and regulations, and in 2016 I developed a new ablution water system concept.
Voluntary Environmental Work
In 2004, I was involved with the Star Diving Voluntary Team, contributing to marine environmental clean-up and diving-related voluntary activities.
Selected Media & Published Work
My professional years also include documentary, radio, and television work across political, constitutional, historical, diplomatic, and national themes.
Selected works include:
Amir of Diplomacy
A documentary film on the life and diplomatic legacy of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Kuwait & the United Nations
A documentary film about the State of Kuwait’s accession to the United Nations.
Kuwait–Egypt Relations

Other Radio, Television & Documentary Work
Additional programmes and documentary work across political, economic, cultural, constitutional, historical, and sports-related fields.
These works are already listed on the existing Professional Years page, but they should be moved into a cleaner “Selected Media & Published Work” section rather than appearing as scattered items at the end.
Continuous Learning
The demands of professional life may shape the calendar, but they have never closed the door to learning.
Across every role, newsroom, office, cultural institution, and international assignment, I have continued to learn through practice. Each chapter added a new discipline: journalism taught precision, broadcasting taught timing, public relations taught diplomacy, cultural programming taught audience experience, UN work taught partnership and development thinking, and technology continues to teach new ways of organising knowledge and improving work.
For me, professional experience is not only a record of positions held. It is a continuing education in how institutions communicate, how people understand public life, and how knowledge can be turned into meaningful action.
